The expert commission

During the Austrian criminal proceedings, an international commission of experts appointed by the Ministry of Transport found that “no fire risk” had been foreseen for funiculars of this kind before the day of the disaster. When the final report was translated from the French original into German, however, two members of the expert commission were dropped from the list, including the Austrian ministerial official who formally approved the renovation of the Kaprun Glacier Railway in 1993.
